AC Introduction

     The "Hurricane 550 Hyperion Combo" is now at Air Craft.  The Hurricane was released over a year ago and has since been optimized for Duration, Sports and 3D flight with Hyperion products.  Hyperion has specially made the S3520-14 motor to meet the needs of all flying styles.

      Kit price is very reasonable (US$195.95).  Optional parts are also available at Air Craft.  11 combos are available and are 15% cheaper than purchasing parts individually.  Whatever your flying style - Air Craft has the best setup for you!

Hurricane 550 TEST DATA AND COMMENTS FROM Air Craft

     Here at Air Craft, the Hyperion S3520 special motor range has been extensively tested in the Hurricane 550 and the S3520-14 motors have been found to deliver the best performance and flight time while keeping the batteries, motor and ESC reasonably cool.

     Hyperion ATLAS DS20 servos have been rigorously tested and the fastest - the DS20-HMD for the cyclic and the DS20-GMD for the tail make the pilot feel the most connected to the helicopter, allowing precise maneuvers with real authority and agility.

     Combining the ATLAS servos with the new TITAN ESC with a 6V COOL BEC (HP-TITAN-80-PSW316) allows the servos to work at higher speeds and with more power. This setup was tested with both GY401 and JR770 Gyros with exceptional results.

     There are several battery choices depending on your flying style.  For all-out 3D we recommend HP-LVX3700-5S.   sports flying, HP-LCX4270-4S suits to sports flying.  HP-LCX4270-5S and HP-LCX5350-4S are for duration and circuits.

     Our careful testing means we have already chosen the best setups for you so you can enjoy your flying.  The Setups in the tables below will give you exhilarating performance even before you add you own fine-tuning!

*GASMODE allows you to use your transmitter’s throttle curves with the addition of a built-in slow-start!

*Do not use wooden blades for high head speeds!  It may cause serious damage.  Please use stronger carbon blades for high head speeds.

*Wooden blades are very 3D-capable but make a lot more noise and are not as precise to fly.
